Volunteer Program
How can I be a part of Lakeland Hospice?
Volunteers are a vital, valued part of the Lakeland Hospice team. They can do anything from providing companionship to a patient, helping with clerical projects in our office, or working on a fundraising event. Their help makes it possible for us to provide even more comprehensive care to our patients and their families. Our volunteers undergo training, a background check, and a simple health screening prior to working with patients.
Can I volunteer even if I don’t think I can be a respite volunteer?
Yes! We often have projects in our office that volunteers enjoy, such as restocking patient care supplies, helping with mailings, or other clerical tasks. We also have volunteers on committees for the various fundraisers we do throughout the year. Both are fun, rewarding ways our volunteers can participate in the Hospice program.
